Welcome to the First Baptist Church Homepage!
Sunday Services at 10:45 AM
126 South Hayes
Emmett, Idaho 83617
Some of our leaders met last night and decided that we should cancel SS and Worship Services for the next two weeks to comply with the COVID-19 recommendations. While we want to meet to show our adoration to the Lord and fellowship and serve one another, there is a need to protect each other from the potential spread of COVID-19 germs. While we appear to be currently safe in Emmett, I am aware that people in the Treasure Valley are being tested for this virus. A number of our own church family fall into the vulnerable category, because of age and other health issues. So we want to proceed with caution.
At the same time, our desire is to seek creative ways to continue to preach and worship and fellowship with and care for one another. We are looking into ways that we might be able to record the worship team and the sermon and provide it through a medium like Facebook. Pray that we can pull this off. If we cannot do it for this Sunday, our goal is to do it for next Sunday. We will let you know. If we are not able to provide it this Sunday, I will give you some options:
- You can listen to recent FBC sermons by going to www.fbcemmett.org;
- You can watch a message from Right Now Media. They have lessons geared for age groups like kids, youth, and adults. You can watch a message and talk about it as a family.
- You can use television to watch pastors like David Jeremiah and Charles Stanley.
- You can use the internet to watch/listen to pastors like Tony Evans or Alistair Begg or John Piper etc.
- You could FB Livestream a sister ABC church like the Summit Church or True Hope in Boise.
We are also going to try to learn how to provide online meetings, so if this crisis continues longer we have good ways to meet safely to fellowship, pray, and make decisions.
We will seek to organize groups of people with a leader to work at communicating and caring and praying for one another. If there are needs where people need help of getting groceries or prescriptions at the store, one of our people could be notified and pick it up and deliver it for the family.
We want to encourage you to continue to support the ministry of our church as God blesses and provides for you during this health crisis. We do not yet have online giving. You can send contributions by: sending it in the mail to First Baptist Church, 126 S. Hayes Ave., Emmett, ID 83617, arranging with your bank to send your contribution, or by dropping it off at the church office or the church mail slot on the door if no one is in.
I pray God’s blessing and protection over you! May you experience His joy and peace as you abide in Him!
Word of God: We believe that the Bible is fully inspired by God and without error in the original manuscripts. It is our final authority for faith and life.
God: We believe in the triunity of the one only true God, who is eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He created and sustains the universe. He seeks to have a personal relationship with us through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ: We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. Through the Holy Spirit, He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died sacrificially for our sins, rose from the grave, ascended into heaven and promises to return in glory.
Holy Spirit: We believe the ministry of God the Holy is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, by convicting the world of sin, by saving, empowering and equipping all who believe in Christ.
Salvation: We believe that all men are sinners and fall under condemnation. Those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection are forgiven, granted eternal life, and are born again to new life by the Holy Spirit.
The Church: We believe that all converts belong to Christ's universal church. We believe that all Christians are called to join a local church, consisting of believers in Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith and associated for worshiping the Lord, winning the lost, building the believer, and sending the workers to serve in the world.
The Last Things: We believe in the personal, bodily, and imminent return of Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous in heaven and the endless suffering of the wicked in hell.
